New Haven (November 15, 2025) -- The Prosperity Foundation (TPF) announced the appointment of Donna Lecky as Interim Chief Executive Officer effective September 1, marking a new phase in the organization’s evolution as it enters its second decade of advancing economic and social prosperity within Connecticut’s Black communities.

Lecky, a long-time board member and former Chair of Finance Committee, has been integral to The Prosperity Foundation’s growth since its inception. During her tenure on the board, she has played a key role in strengthening the organization’s endowment, advancing its investment strategy, and supporting statewide advocacy efforts — including TPF’s successful push for Connecticut to become one of the few states to formally recognize Black Philanthropy Month.

Her appointment comes as The Prosperity Foundation completes a comprehensive, multi-year-long strategic planning process. This process has included revisiting and refining the organization’s mission, vision, and values; strengthening its grant making model; and laying the groundwork for new community investment strategies and partnerships. A rebrand and website relaunch are forthcoming as part of this broader effort to align the Foundation’s public identity with its evolving role in the state’s philanthropic landscape.

“The Prosperity Foundation has spent the past decade building a foundation for lasting impact,” Lecky said. “As we move into this next phase, our focus is on deepening that impact — strengthening the endowment, investing in Black-led organizations, and ensuring that our philanthropy continues to reflect the voices and values of the communities we serve.”

Lecky brings more than 25 years of executive experience in finance, healthcare, and venture investment to the position. As the CFO and Co-Founder of HealthVenture, she has been recognized for her leadership in capital development and equity-focused investing. Her prior roles include Vice President, Chief Tax Officer, and Tax Counsel at Omnicare, a CVS Company, and Vice President, Chief Tax Officer, and General Tax Counsel at HealthSouth Corporation. Earlier in her career, she held senior positions with KPMG, Ernst & Young, and Deloitte, advising clients on finance structures, mergers and acquisitions, and growth strategy.

In addition to her professional achievements, Lecky serves on the Board of the World Surgical Infection Society and the State and Local Tax Advisory Board of New York University School of Law. She is also an Associate Fellow at Pierson College, Yale University, and a 2018 recipient of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce Women’s Excellence in Business Award. Her advocacy for diversity in venture investing has been featured in ForbesWomen.

“The Prosperity Foundation is entering a period of strategic growth and renewed focus,” said Howard K. Hill, Founding Board Chair “Donna’s leadership, deep financial expertise, and long-standing commitment to our mission will ensure stability and momentum as we continue advancing community-driven philanthropy across Connecticut.”

Under Lecky’s interim leadership, The Prosperity Foundation will continue implementing its updated strategic plan, expanding its endowment model, and investing in the capacity of Black-led organizations statewide.
